A new team for Anfield
A dispute between John Houlding and Everton's committee led Everton to leave Anfield. Houlding and his associates created a new club for the ground. The split began in March 1892; Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Limited was formally recognised on 3 June. The club's origins are inseparable from Anfield and from the shared history of football on Merseyside.
