VoiceOver, Dark Interface and Reduced Motion are declared in the App Store. VoiceOver testing has been confirmed on iPhone.

iPad

Dark Interface and Reduced Motion are declared. iPad VoiceOver verification is still pending; we do not claim verified iPad VoiceOver support.

These declarations are not a guarantee that every combination of language, device and setting is barrier-free. We welcome reports of anything that prevents independent play.

Get started at your own pace

1. Start with Practice

   Select Practice in the game-mode menu and open Rules for that mode. Rush has timed turns; it is not the recommended first experience.

2. Use VoiceOver on iPhone

   Open iPhone Settings, Accessibility, then VoiceOver. Dotball provides labeled board controls and announcements for moves and turns. VoiceOver changes touch gestures: select a control, then double-tap to activate it.

3. Try optional Audio Pitch

   Open Match options and enable Audio Pitch. Use Test voice before playing, then try Hear board position, Hear last move and Explore legal moves. Audio Pitch is an extra in-app audio option, not a replacement for VoiceOver.

4. Choose visual and vibration cues

   In Match options, try Show coordinates and Vibration. Use Test move vibration and Test PK vibration to check your device. The dark playing surface and player labels offer additional ways to follow the match.

5. Reduce movement

   In your device's Settings, open Accessibility, Motion, then turn on Reduce Motion. Dotball reduces supported animations, including celebration and board transitions.

Play together, with different controls

Blind and sighted players can use the same rules while choosing their own audio and visual settings. Online matches use Apple Game Center and need an internet connection. For an arranged match, have one person invite the other. Quick Match searches for an available opponent, not necessarily your friend.

Known limitations

• Spoken voice availability and quality depend on the language, operating system and installed voices. A translated interface does not guarantee a spoken voice in that language. Check Test voice and the voice-availability message.
• Vibration requires compatible hardware. It is not available on every device.
• We have not completed device-specific VoiceOver verification for iPad or Mac.
• Some routes rely on red and blue color. We do not currently declare Differentiate Without Color Alone.
• We do not currently declare Larger Text, Sufficient Contrast, Voice Control, Captions or Audio Descriptions. Audio Pitch is not a video audio-description feature.
