Offline play and device storage

Solo word games, crosswords, word-group puzzles, and downloaded travel content run on your device. The app stores language, preferences, puzzle answers, saved rounds, scores, streaks, and progress locally so you can continue later. Local multiplayer may store the words or names you enter. Solo play does not require a separate BrAIn account. The app does not use advertising or third-party gameplay analytics SDKs.

Pronunciation uses available device speech voices. BrAIn does not record your microphone or send the answer to a BrAIn speech server. Device backup and speech services are governed by your Apple settings.

Game Center

If you use Apple Game Center, BrAIn accesses your player identifier and display name, relevant opponent information, scores, achievements, and match state to provide rankings, invitations, real-time matches, and turn-based Beat My Score challenges. Game state, selected words, moves, and results are exchanged through Apple GameKit. Scores and achievement progress can sync when Game Center is connected. Other players may see your Game Center identity and shared results.

Apple handles Game Center accounts and service data under its own policies. Manage sign-in, activity visibility, multiplayer permissions, and parental controls in Apple settings. See Apple's Game Center privacy notice. Removing local app data does not remove records retained by Apple.

Legacy hosted games

Where an older invite-code game is opened, the app uses Supabase to store and synchronize the session identifier, invite code, secret word, category, guesses, scores, round timing, and game status. These routes are separate from the current Game Center invitation flow. The hosting service receives network information needed to serve requests, such as IP addresses. A person who has the game's invite code can access its shared session; do not put personal or sensitive information into a secret word or category.

The app does not provide an automatic expiry guarantee for legacy sessions. Contact us with the relevant session or invite code to request deletion from systems we control. Provider logs may remain according to provider retention and operational requirements.

Sharing, reports, and support

Sharing a result sends the content you choose to the app or recipient you select. Question reports prepare an email with the question identifier, mode, language, category, question, any revealed answer, and your optional comment. Nothing is emailed to us until you send it. When you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you send and use it to respond and troubleshoot.

Support correspondence may remain in our business email systems until deleted. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold. We may need to verify a request, and may retain information required for security or applicable obligations. Please do not send passwords or medical information.

External links and providers

Opening a source, stadium, App Store, or support link connects to that service, which may process network and device information under its own policy. The company website uses hosting and email providers and optional website analytics as explained in our website policy. Website analytics are separate from in-app gameplay. Providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States.

Your choices and family controls

You can play solo offline without joining Game Center matches. Saved progress stays until it is reset, cleared, or removed with app data; clearing it can permanently erase unsynced progress. Device backups may retain copies under your settings. Parents and guardians can use Apple's Screen Time and Game Center controls to restrict online features. Contact us if a child has sent personal information to our support team.
